No Battery Is Detected Vista Hp Solution

 Posted admin

Nov 28, 2010. Hi all, I have a HP DV 3505xx notebook that originally shipped with Vista. Last week I upgraded to Windows 7. I notice now that the battery doesn't appear to be charging and the message over the battery icon on the task bar is 'No battery is detected'. I have tried the HP recommended remedies that. Laptop Battery - Plugged in, not charging. As per the thread title, the battery is recognised as being present, but is not charging, and when the power is disconnected, will not run on battery power. I have come to the conclusion that it is most likely a hardware issue, see below.

Top 6 Ways to Fix Battery Icon Missing Problem after Windows 10 Creators Update/Fall Creators Update

In this Windows 10 guide, we'll walk you through 6 different ways to bring the laptop battery icon back to the notification area of Windows 10 Creators Update.

Way 1. Check the Battery on Your Windows 10 Creators Update/Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Laptop

Before we begin configuration on the OS, it's recommended to have a check on the battery-related hardware and make sure there's no problem with the device just in case you waste time on other useless computer operations.

1. Check the power charger of your HP, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, etc. laptop.

2. Check if the switch button of the battery has been changed to OFF. Make sure it is turned on.

3. Plug out the battery and then put it back to see if the missing battery icon problem still persists. If so, go on the reading.

Way 2. Uninstall the Battery Device in the Device Manager

One of the workarounds to solve the missing battery icon issue is to uninstall the battery hardware device in the Device Manager of Windows 10 Creators Update/Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. And here's how to make it:

Step 1. Use Windows shortcut keysWin + X to launch the Jump List.

Step 2. Select the Device Manager.

Step 3. Expand the Battery entry.

Step 4. Right-click the Microsoft AC Adapter and select Uninstall device.

Step 5. Do the same to the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. (Note: Click the OK button if it notices you to continue uninstalling the device.)

Step 6. Go to the Action menu.

Step 7. Select Scan for hardware changes.

Then Windows will detect the missing device and reinstall the battery hardware device for the computer. Also, you can right-click the devices and disable them, and then re-enable the battery devices to see if this works.

Way 3. Turn on the System Icon to Fix the Missing Battery Icon on Windows 10 Creators Update

Windows allows you to turn on or off the system icons in the notification area/taskbar. You can go to the Taskbar settings to enable the battery icon on Windows 10 Creators Update/Fall Creators Update.

Step 1. Right-click the blank area of the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.

Step 2. Scroll down for the Notification area.

Step 3. Click the Turn system icons on or off.

Step 4. Find the Power and turn it On.

Note: Some may fail to restore the missing battery icon to the taskbar because the Power option grayed out in the Settings. In this case, you can go to the Local Group Policy Editor to fix the laptop battery icon problem.
