It is always a concern when a member reports that one of the downloads is infected with a virus or malware.
Every effort is made to ensure this cannot happen. When a file/package is added it is scanned straight away.
Subsequently, the folder containing the downloads is scanned at least twice each day to ensure that infection has not come about by any other method eg. another file has infected it or the site has been compromised. In addition to this, as you download the file, it is scanned in real time and will abort the download process if something is found.
When a member reports a problem I take it very seriously as the reputation of Hamfiles is uppermost in my mind.
Whenever such a report is made I perform an on-line scan of the package at VirusTotal - Free Online Virus, Malware and URL Scanner, a Google subsidiary, to confirm the reports validity.
The file you reported was tested through 55 different anti-virus & anti-malware sites via Virus Total and found to SAFE. There were NO false positives and NO infections were discovered.
If you would like to submit the relevant part of your log for this particular download via the ticket system I'd be pleased to look at it but you can be assured that it is most likely a false positive by your own software.
Once you download a file on Hamfiles, points are deducted. If, in the future you wish to download the file again for any reason, no further points will be deducted so you may wish to try again and tell your AV program to ignore the warning.
